Will You Survive Breen?

Text says,‘This side of the painting wonders, is this artist still alive?’ Text around my head says, “I may still be alive…what year is it?” This is another one of those message to the future breens.

I don’t know about you, but when I look at an old painting in a flea market, one of the first things that pop into my head is “Is the artist still alive?” This original painting was completed in 1968, so if the artist was old, he’s probably dead. If a kid did it though, he’s probably still limping around. As usual, I did an internet search to see if I could find out anything on the original artist, but I didn’t see anything. So I painted a line down the middle of the painting and on the left, posited the question that’s been nagging me. Then I thought, once I add to this, people might wonder If I’m still alive too! So of course, as usual, the painting became all about me. I made a small self-portrait on the right, but I tried to keep as much of the orginal painting. Will this painting march into the future? Will someone else breen it? If you buy this painting, will you outlive me, cashing in on an artistic jackpot?

Very probably! I expect my wife, son, mother..even my CAT to outlive me. My loss (of life) could be your gain if you buy my art right now! Every minute that ticks by brings me closer to that fateful meeting with the grim reaper, and the end of insanely low Breen art prices! But why, you ask, why am I, at the relatively young age of 49, such a tempty morsel for death?

Genetics. My father died at 53 from colorectal cancer. If I follow the path he blazed to Glory, I have about 3.5 years left. Then there’s stress. Lots of it. Big mortgage, health insurance, family to support, my arteries are under lots of pressure ready to blow out at any time. Something’s gotta give health-wise! So bid away, you could get lucky!
